Derek is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner with a total of 23 years of health care experience who has specialized in emergency medicine, urgent care, and primary care. He also has experience with the Department of Veteran’s Affairs Compensation and Pension Examinations. 

A United States Army Veteran himself, he completed his graduate studies at Carson-Newman University. He studied undergraduate nursing at the University of Tennessee and South College, both in Knoxville, Tennessee. His primary area of interest is Men’s Health but loves seeing patients of all ages.

​Derek enjoys spending time with his wife, family, two dogs and of course tending to the family’s chickens. He enjoys being outdoors, watching sports, and relaxing on his front porch enjoying a beautiful view of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
